Israel Baseball League Update

I don't post about baseball as much as I'd like, but it's nice to see that my post the other day about the Red Sox and the Israel Baseball League got some nice attention.

From all accounts, the IBL is off to a great start, and my man in Israel, the ever-present Moshe Maeir, sent me this great article on the inaugural IBL game. If you like baseball, and are even the least bit curious about its connections with Israel, you'll find this a very fun read. Gotta love this.

It is indeed off to a great start. I was at a Gezer game this past week and the Opening Game in Peta Tikva. It is so rare( make that never) to see religious and non religious together having a great time. Surrouded by Israel
s natural beauty. Some good ball playing. A wonderful experience. So much fun. I am thrilled that it is here. As are all who attend the games I think.

Not mentioned in the article was the fact that Sandy Koufax was also drafted! At the age of 71 http://cbs4denver.com/watercooler/watercooler_story_117145520.html
